FAQ
                       Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Think Tank HQ?

Think Tank HQ is a structured discussion and

debate platform that helps strengthen

reasoning, respectful disagreement, and

confident communication through guided

dialogue and moral dilemmas.

2. Do I need to know philosophy to participate?

No. All sessions are structured to help

participants understand the topic. You only

need an open mind and a willingness to

engage.

3. What actually happens in a session?

You’ll be guided through a structured

discussion or debate using a moral dilemma

or thought experiment. Participants share

perspectives, challenge ideas, examine

assumptions, and practice clear reasoning in

real time.

4. Will I be put on the spot?

No one is forced to speak, but everyone is encouraged

to participate when ready. Sessions use a structured

format that helps even quieter participants feel

comfortable contributing.

5. Is this a debate club?

Not in the competitive sense. We analyze

ideas the way a debate does, but the goal isn’t

to ‘win.’ The goal is to gain and strengthen

the skills needed to successfully partake in

discussions, debates, and public speaking.

6. What if someone disagrees with me?

They will! That’s normal. Disagreements are

part of the process and you will learn ways to

handle them respectfully through structure,

not argument.

7. What if I get misunderstood?

That’s normal. Misunderstanding is part of

dialogue. You'll learn ways to clarify your

point and refine your thinking without getting

frustrated.

8. What if I say something wrong?

Good! That’s a big part of learning. Mistakes are

expected and built into the process.

9. Are emotional reactions allowed?

While natural and expected, they aren’t the driving

force of discussion. If something feels emotional, we

help you turn that reaction into clear reasoning rather

than letting it take the conversation off course.

10. How do you keep discussions respectful?

We uphold a clear set of guidelines that protect

participants while still allowing their ideas to be fully

challenged. No personal attacks, no diagnoses, no

dominance! Just disciplined reasoning.

11. What if someone dominates the conversation?

The moderator steps in and rebalances the setting.

Everyone gets a fair opportunity to speak. There are no

prizes for having the loudest voice.

12. Do the sessions ever get hostile?

It's possible, and for some topics it's not surprising!

Our structure aims to prevent hostility, but if a

conversation does drift into unproductive territory, the

moderator redirects it. Moments of tension are normal

when people are learning to navigate disagreements

and opposing views.

13. Is Think Tank HQ political?

No. Sessions may cover political topics, but the focus

is always on reasoning, values, and the structure

behind ideas rather than taking sides or promoting a

political agenda.

14. Who is Think Tank HQ for?

Anyone who wants to think more clearly, argue less

impulsively, improve communication/public speaking

skills, or explore complex questions and topics without

judgment.

15. What do I need to bring?

For discussions:

No materials, background knowledge, or preparation

required. If you like taking notes, you’re welcome to

bring a notebook, but it’s completely optional.

For debates:

The topic and some informational resources will be

provided to participants before and during the event. A

laptop for fact-checking will be provided to each team.

16. Can I come alone?

Yes! Many people prefer to. The structure makes it

easy to participate whether you arrive solo or with a

group.

17. Are sessions recorded?

Yes. Most Think Tank HQ sessions are filmed, and

selected segments may be shared online. Recording is

a core part of the project because it allows people to

learn from real discussions and see how structured

reasoning works in practice.

Participants must provide consent before joining any

recorded session. Consent may be withdrawn at any

time before the session begins. However, once a

participant withdraws or refuses consent, they cannot

re-give it for that session. After the session begins,

withdrawal is no longer possible.

18. Will I get better at debating or public speaking?

That's the goal! Without trying to “perform,” you’ll

naturally strengthen clarity, reasoning, communication,

and confidence over time.

19. How is Think Tank different from Jubilee Media or other similar platforms?

We share one surface similarity: we bring people
together to discuss and debate entertaining, meaningful topics on camera.

The purpose behind those discussions is different.

Other platforms create conversations for an audience.

Think Tank HQ creates conversations for the

participants. Our sessions are structured learning

environments where people practice communication,

reasoning, and perspective-taking. The filming

documents the process, but the goal is growth, not

performance.

We also use the sessions as part of a long-term research

project on dialogue, moral reasoning, and how people

form beliefs. The structure, prompts, and facilitation

are designed to strengthen skills, not to create dramatic

or reactive moments.

Both formats hold value, and our team finds other

platforms incredibly entertaining! Ours simply centers

on education and method.

20. Can I join as an observer?
Yes! We offer observer spots for individuals who want to watch a live session and learn the format before participating. Click below to learn more!

21. How do I join future sessions?
